ENYIMBA KNOCK OUT OF THE AITEO CUP

The people’s elephant were up against a confident, fit pillars in Gombe at the Pantami stadium for the AITEO Cup in the quarter-finals.

Enyimba of Aba were favorite to proceed in the tournament with their impressive display since the start of the season despite recent setback losing at home in Confederation Cup.

The game was well contested has expected, even well  beyond expectation and the people’s elephant  were up and running when they find back of the net early at the 10th minute from a well taken shot, but that did not deter pillars who seems they have been well drilled for the game, their tireless effort was rewarded with an equalizer in 36th minute.

Enyimba were force to substitute Ezenwa after sustaining an hand injury, while Pillars capitalise on their sub and took advantage of it when they added to their tally with a goal in the 52nd and 60th minute, later on Pillars killed the game with another goal, Enyimba were however able to pull one back in the dying minute from the spot which make’s it end 2-4 losing to Pillars.

Kano Pillars will face Katsina United in the Semi-Finals and on wednesday in Lagos while Nasarawa United face Enugu Rangers in Kano.
