ENUGU RANGERS QUALIFY FOR GROUP STAGE OF CAF CONFEDERATION CUP

ENUGU RANGERS QUALIFY FOR THE GROUP STAGE OF CAF CONFEDERATION, AFTER DEFEATING BANTU FC OF LESOTHO 2-1 IN THE SECOND LEG CLASH PLAYED AT THE NMANDI AZIKWE STADIUM, ENUGU ON SUNDAY, WHICH KEPT THE SCORELINE AT 4-2 AGGREGATE.

The host Enugu Rangers, were stunned by their visitors Bantu FC after they went ahead very early in the game at 13th minute mark from the strike of Lehlohonolo, to raise the hope of the visitors who had earlier lost the first leg 2-1 in Maseru Lesotho.

But their hope was cut short after Ogunbote boys banged in two goals in two minutes in the first half.

Ibrahim Ajani scored the equalizer in the 19th minute for Rangers to level the scoreline, not long after Godwin Aguda bang in the winner in the 20th minute for fifth goal of the tournament, to ensure that they move into the group stage.

The Flying Antelopes tried to get more goals in the second 45 minute, but they meet a solid and resolute Bantu FC in the second half, who were not ready not ready to be embarass even though they are away.

Rangers International have been drawn with Salitas, CS Sfaxien and Etoile du Sahel in group A of  the group stage of CAF Confederation Cup.
